HELLO FROM THE NEW OWNERS OF ORCHARD VIEW BED AND BREAKFAST

By Antoinette and Brian, owner/manager
Last updated: 2017-04-25 17:58:17

Hi there,

Antoinette and Brian here, we are the new owners of the new Orchard View Bed and Breakfast, formerly known as `Victorian Charm Bed and Breakfast`.

It's a new and exciting adventure for us, both running a bed and breakfast as well as relocating to Niagara Falls. Built in 1899, the house has retained some heritage features both inside and out.

In our former life, both our backgrounds and interests lie in historical building preservation and conservation given our penchant for buying old houses, former fire stations, and former churches to rehab (all true!).

When not in reno mode, we are also interested in organic gardening, reading, music, bicycling, skiing, playing tennis, travelling, nature walks, and attending live events.

Our style is casual, colourful and fun with the odd bit of quirky in our living spaces. We look forward to meeting both new and returning visitors to our bed and breakfast.

WINTER FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS!

Last updated: 2021-03-17 13:41:51

The Ontario Power Generation Winter Festival of Lights begins in late November and continues until the third week (approximately)in January the following year.

All along the Niagara parkway From the bottom of Clifton Hill and travelling south are a multitude of different lighted displays celebrating Christmas with a fantastic light arrangement for each one. Work begins in September to get the structures up each year plus some new features as added as well.

The route ends with a drive around Dufferin Island which has an amazing range of animals on display. Thousands come on the weekend to see the Christmas lights and it well worth the trip, perhaps during the week when it's less busy.

Since full service operations of the WEGO system commenced in August 2012, over 2 million passenger trips have been provided to visitors wishing to experience all that Niagara Parks and Niagara Falls has to offer as a premier tourism destination. More importantly, given the enhanced accessibility this new system provides, WEGO was able to accommodate and assist over 1,865 individuals using wheelchairs and over 460 visitors using scooters. WEGO also has the ability to transport bicycles, and in its first year, has helped transport more than 415 cyclists to sites within the tourism community.
No need to drive and spend hours to find an expensive parking place! The WEGO bus stop is only a 5 minute walk from Orchard View Bed and Breakfast.
